Ever since doctors declared Jon Lester cancer-free, the Red Sox have stressed that they will make sure not to overload him with work. That continues to be the team's official stance, but it's getting harder and harder to hold him back.
After throwing live batting practice on Saturday, Terry Francona said Lester looked "tremendous." And, while Francona won't rush Lester, it's exciting to see how well the 23-year old is doing.
"We will certainly keep an eye on him," said Francona. "We owe him that. (Right now) he's on the same schedule as everyone else, he has not backed off.
"We weren't going to trot him out of the gate first. The more time we can buy him, the better."

Good for him. I've liked Lester from the first time I saw him pitch and I hope he can do well this year. I don't know where he'll fit into the stacked rotation at this point, but injuries happen (knock on wood).

I doubt there is a sould out there that isn't pulling for Lester to return and be great. Good luck, Lester.
